Securing Two for ’22: Motorbike Loans for New Models

The annual Ride Your Motorcycle Week may have sparked your interest in buying a new motorcycle for 2022. The major motorcycle manufacturers have a great track record for delivering exciting new offerings each year with sneak peaks and launch dates teased out in the latter part of year prior. We update on the latest news in the motorcycle sector including the new bike release calendar, motorbike loans for new models and interest rates.

Ride Your Motorcycle Week

29 November through to 5 December 2021 marked the fifth annual Ride Your Motorcycle Week. A nationwide initiative to prompt riders to put lockdown aside and get back on their bikes. Mmm, we don’t think many riders would need prompting to go for a ride but it is a great opportunity to focus on the sector.

The focus is on dusting off the bike, getting it serviced and then hitting the road, trail or track. The event coincide with Australian rider Remy Gardner being crowned 2021 Moto2 World Champion and he threw his support behind the initiative.

The message is to ensure your bike is safe through proper servicing and enjoy riding. FCAI Chief Executive Tony Weber said the goal of the week is for riders to enjoy riding after the pandemic had put strain on mental health.

Mr Weber explained that motorcycle riding is a great way to manage your stress, to connect with friends and get back in the world. He quoted that studies reveal motorcycle riding can stimulate the mind, keep riders fit and focussed and improve cognitive function associated with age.

If you missed the week but would like more information head to the website to catch up.

If you’re looking to buy in 2022 then you’re going to want to know what new models to put on that want list to check out. Despite global supply issues impacting many sectors, motorcycle brands are scheduled to deliver new models onto the Australian market in 2022.

For details on what to expect, we referred to the experts at bikesales.com.au who have put together a great buying tool – their New Bike Release Calendar. An essential resource for those planning a new bike buy.

Motorbike Loans

With some new 2022 models apparently already sold out and occasionally limited quantities of some special models available at any time, prospective buyers can be smart and get their finance sorted beforehand. Jade Bike Loans provides pre-approved finance which is ideal for ensuring you’re at the head of queue when order books open.

So how does a pre-approved bike loan work? Well, pretty much the same as how you would apply for any motorbike loan except the application is made and the approval process is carried out before the actual bike sale is made.

Individuals can apply for a pre-approved Secured Bike Loan to:

  • Find out exactly how much they would be approved to borrow.
  • Know what interest rate they would be offered.
  • See loan repayments they would be looking at for different priced makes and models.

It’s best to have at least some idea of what price range you are considering so our consultant can source a quote for an estimated loan amount. Once your loan is approved, it is valid for a certain amount of time. That gives you the chance to get around and test ride different bikes and when you’ve made your decision you can make the commitment on the spot.

After signing the sales contract, contact your Jade consultant and they will finalise the loan based on the exact invoice from the dealer. We’ll also liaise between lender and dealer for a smooth settlement process. Use our Motorbike Loan Calculator to work up estimated loan repayments to set your budget.

So mark those new release dates in your diary, apply for your loan and get set for a great year of riding in 2022. Lending interest rates remain at historic low levels but there are strong indications that rates will start to rise soon. The lending sector is expecting the RBA to increase the cash rate in June and that would cause a rise across the lending markets.
