Well, maybe not that new – Sherco has been around since 1998 but that is relatively young when many other bike manufacturers have a heritage in the biz dating back a very very long time. The company is French and has manufacturing facilities in both Spain and France.
As an independent company, Sherco has control over the pace of its development and strategy and that strategy is proving quite a success if the growth in popularity of the brand is a good guide. In just those 15 years, Sherco has built a business with their motorcycles now sold in over 50 countries.
The Sherco Range
Sherco produces bikes in two categories: enduro and trial with the current range including around 20 vehicles, so riders have plenty of options to choose the Sherco that best suits their riding style.
The trial bikes feature 2-stroke motors with models from 80cc to 305cc.
The endure range are the 4-stroke models in the 210cc to 510cc class and also several 2-strokes in the 50cc to 300cc category.
450 SEF-R
The 450 SEF-R is a desert racing machine in the enduro category. A 450cc 4-stroke with a powerful yet smooth engine. Notable mentions for the 2021 model include a number of features being lightened – sprockets on the balancer and starter inner pinion and the oil pump gear. In fact, this model has a 500g reduction in total engine weight.
The racing graphics kit is awesome and set off superbly with the black seat, frame protectors, grips and other features. Worth a look!
250 FST Trials
Also catching our eye is the 250 FST in the trials category. A 250cc with 2-stroke engine, with 5-speed sequential gearbox, kick start, stainless steel header pipe and more impressive specs. For 2020 the 250 comes out in a new grey frame and graphics, aluminium tech fork and Reiger shock.
300 FST Anniversary Edition
For genuine Sherco fans, the 20th anniversary model of the 300 FST is sure to become highly sought after. From the trials category this is a 2-stroke, 300cc bike with grey frame, special graphics and real attitude.
Sherco offers a great range of accessories and gear to match each bike so you can get suited up with all the right protective equipment in the brand colours. The company hosts exciting ride days for Sherco owners, organised through the dealers, but most will have to be postponed for 2020 due to COVID-19.
