Triumph Motorcycles looks like expecting a big year with the release of several new models for 2021 including the Speed Triple 1200 RS. Tagged as a most technically advanced and most powerful motorbike in the Speed Triple range to date. The 1200 RS will join the other new bikes from Triumph which include the Tiger 850 Sport and the Trident 660.
So what’s so all the big news and big calls around this new Speed Triple? We checked it out, as we do at Jade Bike Loans, to whet your appetite ahead of its availability in Australia in March 2021.
Showcase: 2021 Speed Triple 1200 RS
For starters, the new model has more power thanks to the much larger 1160 cc engine, with its triple cylinders to deliver increased power and torque. While more powerful, the new Speed Triple 1200 RS is lighter and more compact with a 198 kg weight. The new design has been inspired by the company’s Moto2 racing programme. So riders can expect an exhilarating ride.
Another new feature is the ‘free-breathing’ intake and exhaust which according to the company improves that classic Triumph sound even more. The optically bonded instrument screen provides improved visibility and an upgraded interface for improved user experience.
The lightweight chassis is new as is the ergonomics which are claimed to deliver a more ‘purposeful’ rider position. The handlebars are wider and the seat profile also a new design. The components are premium with Brembo Stylema calipers and Ohlins suspension. Rider assist tech is upgraded to include ABS for optimised cornering, five riding modes, keyless ignition and for the first time on a Triumph Speed Triple, the connectivity pack is standard kit.
Of course, there is still a range of options and accessories to enable buyers to spec their ride to suit their own style.
So what will the new Speed Triple 1200 RS set you back? At time of preparing this article, the Triumph Australia website had not released pricing. But, a bit of digging around in the motorcycle media and we see a price of just over $25,500 plus on road costs being touted.

To double your 2021 ‘triumph’, contact us to discuss a pre-approved secured motorcycle loan so you are ready to be one of the first in Australia to ride your own Triple Speed when the March release arrives. A pre-approved loan is arranged by your Jade consultant in the same way as a normal bike loan except it is done prior to purchase rather than after.

There is no obligation with pre-approved loans so if you change your mind after test-riding the new Triumph (as if you will) the pre-approved loan simply expires in time.
New Triumph Tiger 850 Sport
Already available in the ‘new’ Triumph stable is the Tiger 850 Sport. Tagged as an ideal all-rounder, this bike is designed for both city commuting and hitting the highway for an adventure riding experience. A smaller engine than the Triple Speed 1200 at 888 cc and also with a smaller price tag. Triumph is currently advertising the Tiger 850 at just under $18,000 as a ride-away price.
