Harley-Davidson elected to do their major 2021 launch in global virtual, online event in mid-January. A first for this iconic motorcycle manufacturer and a much-anticipated event for Harley fans and followers across the world. The news is now out and we take a look at what new news and models Harley has revealed for 2021.
2021 Street Bob 114
The Softail range has an upgrade with the Street Bob 114 with the Milwaukee Eight 114 engine. This engine apparently replaces the 107 V twin powerplant and according to reports is quicker in both zero to 60 mph and 60 to 80 mph ranges. The new Bob has more grunt a stripped down styling with blacked-out engine, chopped fender and other features. Buyers are given a choice of colours including Baja Orange, Deadwood Green, Vivid Black and Stone Washed White Pearl. But when will you be able to get your hands on one? Not sure as the exact date for availability in Australia has not been announced. But pricing has been so you can start your buying prep. Fat Boy 114
As well as the new Street the Fat Boy 114 has also received a styling makeover. Check out the chrome features which include exhaust, engine cover and other detail. It comes with a higher price tag than the Street so sourcing the cheapest bike loan will be a must for buyers.
For aficionados of the Softail range, you may lament H-D’s decision to drop the Low Rider, FDXR 114 and Deluxe in 2021.
Still to Come
The January virtual launch was not the only one for 2021. Harley-Davidson has another virtual launch scheduled for 23 February. This time it is for the Pam America. You can sign up for the online event at 2021 virtual product launch. According to the pre-event promo the Pan America is set to open up a whole new world for Harley.

More 2021 Models
It’s early in the year but plenty of other motorcycle makers have flagged new models and new looks for 2021 including Aprilia, Suzuki, Husqvarna and Moto Guzzi for starters. Moto Guzzi celebrates 100 years this year with a new celebratory livery and brings back the V9. Reports have it that the 2021 livery is only available on selected models and only for this year. We’ll keep an eye on developments to bring news of the Australia availability – whispered to be in May.
For Enduro fans, Husqvarna has given the 701 an upgrade for 2021 along with the 701 Supermoto changes. Expected late March so you have time to lock in your pre-approved bike loan.
For the new Aprilia updates, buyers will have to wait, if they can, until the middle of 2021. Scheduled to arrive are updates to the RSV4 and the Tuono V4. What to expect – new styling, Euro 5 compliance and new electronics.
Bike Loans Update
If you’ve had issues getting a bike loan in the past, you may be interested to know that the Australian Consumer Credit Laws are due for change from April. The Government flagged the intention to make changes so it was easier for some people to get credit and as such speed up the flow of funds into the economy. These changes are still in the consultation stages, so stay tuned if this may impact you.
From Jade’s perspective, our bike loans will continue to be priced at our better interest rates well through 2021 and beyond. Interest rates in general are very low which may make upgrading to a new Harley or other bike even more appealing.
You don’t actually have to wait until you’ve done a deal on a bike before you arrange your finance. You can apply for a pre-approved bike loan with Jade quite easily. Pre-approved bike loans are available for all eligible borrowers and can be a very smart way to go.
